Better Place, a west coast startup, has announced that they are on the road to a quick swap of car battery packs. Their plan is to make battery replacement available in less time than it takes to fill a gas tank.
Their Yokohama video looks like they are well on their way to realizing this goal. Obviously, this isn't practical until there are lots
of recharge stations and a business model where you rent the battery pack instead of owning it.
