Title: Needed.... 110 V battery charger
Post by: steve.kaufman on December 29, 2010, 06:51:59 PM
Hi

By way of introduction..... I just became the proud owner of the "club project car"

Eric's 944 Porsche. That's the good news.

The bad news is that I only have 110 V in my garage..... and for logistic reasons cannot bring 220 V in until the spring.

So I am looking to purchase.... very quickly.... either an onboard ( or not,) 110 volt battery charger for the car.

Thank You

Congrats Steve!  i'm very happy to hear that the Porsche will be staying in the FVEAA!

Folks: Steve has a 220v Zivan NG3 set to 144v dc output, but wants something that will plug-in to 110vac.  Anyone have something that fits the bill laying around ?  Thanks!

What kind of batteries are in the Porsche?

I have a simple 110V AC 144 V DC output charger that Ken made for me.  It only puts in about 10 amps (at the most), so it takes a while to charge up (15 hours or so).  I need to put an Anderson connector on it, otherwise it's good to go.

I would be glad to loan this out.

Please call my cell - 708-307-1399.

Thanks!

I have a Schumacher variable 12v to 72v, if you can isolate batteries.  I also have a circuit breaker that can help in isolating batteries.  708-236-0272

Thank you all !!!!

I just purchased an onboard Elcon charger. So I think I'm set for now.

For now means...... hopefully 12 months..... When I will try to upgrade to lithium.
Thanks
Steve

Great Steve!  i've heard some good reviews of the "newer on the block" elcon chargers.  Which model did you buy, where did you buy it and how much $$$?

I just purchased an onboard Elcon charger. So I think I'm set for now.
