Great Jeff!  This was on the front page of the EAA's Current EVents June 2014 issue i just received.  Imagine if this effect could be solved (or reduced), the total cost of ownership of an EV could drop sharply!  Actually, any energy storage application for that matter, wind and solar power come to mind.
