Qty. 3 Solectria E-10 Pickup Trucks for sale
« on: September 28, 2008, 06:34:37 PM »
Here is a posting from the Solectria Discussion List concerning 3 trucks for sale.  The current owner bought all three from a Government Liquidation site (trucks were in Floriday) intending to rehab them.  I think putting these vehicles back on the road is a very noble and possibly money making endeavor (if you don't count the labor costs).  Here is his latest post.

Sept.27:
hello... i awoke today with shoulder pain again from recent surgery
and am having serious doubts as to whether or not i bit off more than
i should have when i took on this 3 truck project. possibly i will get
over it and forge ahead, despite being overwhelmed by the numerous
wires and details, parts, etc..which are exposing my lack of knowledge
in this area. already having over 23k into this project without any
batteries, and trucks needing a good amount of cleaning and parts
still... i was just wondering if anyone out there would be interested
in aquiring all 3 for about 26k at end of october. i have already
refinished all 3 battery boxes and by end of will have cleaned trucks
fully and put in most all the s-10 parts which were missing, such as 1
bench seat and several door panels, antenna, headlight, mirror, etc..
all 3 trucks had 19 batteries in them and all are 228volt and all 3
have the hughes magnecharger charge port receptacle in front grille on
passenger side. although there is a 110volt ac only plug behind fuel
cap, the 2 bc1000 chargers that originally came with each truck are
all gone, possibly removed when they added the magnecharger port, so
the 110 may not work. all six (2 each) motors and controllers are
there although corrosion exists around plugs due to having been left
unplugged for some time, although all pins appear fine. i do have one
hughes wall mount magnecharger in great condition acquired from
another source to use for charging these trucks once ready. this
project requires more advanced electrical knowledge and patience and
time and money than i have at this time and although i desperately
wanted to keep at least one to drive around and show everyone what is
indeed possible (98% of people i talk to do not even know fully
electric vehicles are possible). i am thinking realistically that i
may have to pass on this project to someone whom is capable of
finishing the project. this is a tentative idea and is not a sale
listing at this time. any input or interest please let me know. thank
you. kevin

Sept. 19th:
3 1994 solectria pickups
greetings all;
the trucks arrived safely to hingham, mass. and need to be cleaned up
and door panels, seat, etc. will be acquired and put on. no batteries.
my arm in sling due to shoulder surgery yesterday so will be a while
before more info comes. no parts will be sold as all 3 will be
revived. the hughes magnecharger port receptacles behind passenger
front grille may go if i can replace with 220/110 vac
receptacle/onboard charge system which may already be there.nothing
behind seats except thermal management box and charger plugs and
velcro where two bc1000 chargers used to be. i am looking for someone
knowledgable with these 228volt 19 battery trucks to determine exactly
what is missing/needed/works. i would like to know how i can test the
controllers and motors to ensure they work BEFORE buying batteries/and
possiblychargers...is that possible.thanks. kevin
