Title: The Electric Spitfire lives!!!
Post by: scott.wilkinson on September 28, 2012, 12:06:25 AM
It runs!!!  More than 2 years in the making and I finally have a running car.  Thanks for all the help from the club members - especially Bob Baker and Miodrag for their contributions.

Here are the specs:
Car: 70s Spitfire (mostly a 78, but many parts from various years)
Controller: Maxforcer SL
Motor: NetGain Impulse 9
Charger: Elcon 3KW
Batteries: 40, CALB 100AH LiFePO cells  128volts
BMS: MiniBMS
DC/DC Converter: Elcon 30amp, sealed

Acceleration is very smooth... and fast.  The car is real fun to drive!  I can't wait to bring it to a meeting real soon.  None of the gauges work properly, but hopefully soon I can get performance figures.

Thanks!
Scott

Scott -

Would you be willing to show it off this weekend?  Where do you live?

Please let me know - I would like to compare the performance to ElecBug, in particular acceleration, tolerance of the batteries, your BMS, etc.

I'm at 708-307-1399

Thanks!
