Plans are well underway for the 11th Annual NEDRA Power of DC coming up June 11 and 12 in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Latest news is that Tesla Motors has joined us as a supporter of the event. They are providing give-aways for the racing participants and providing some cool help with the AutoCross event. And they will also be bringing along some Tesla Roadsters.

The AutoCross will be on Saturday June 11 at the Valley Mall. The SCCA will be there to set up a two-lap course which will will be alot of fun. Last year we made over 400 runs through the course! I think Ken Barbour did over 100 with his Mini-E. The entry fee to race is $25.00 and you become a two-week member of the SCCA. Racing begins between 10:00 and 11:00 am and continues to about 4:00 pm. A generator will be on location.

On Sunday is our Classic NEDRA Drag Race at Mason Dixon Dragway. Elmer, the track owner, said we can start racing early at 11:00 am since we are "quiet." Last year he installed some extra outlets for us to charge from. Entry for racers is $25. Spectators pay $10.00

We will be giving away a cool electric scooter on Sunday, courtesy of the Green Commuter. You can pre-order raffle tickets through the EVA/DC website at http://www.evadc.org/scooter_raffle.html  The winner doesn't need to be present to win.

Some people arrive Friday night at our hang out spot at Comfort Suites off Dual Highway. We'll have a generator set up there so people can charge. Call Comfort Suites at (301) 791-8100 for reservations.

Visit the Power of DC website for more detailed information at http://www.powerofdc.com.

You'll see a cool flyer you can download with photos from our previous events.

We are still looking for sponsors. If you are interested email me at pr@nedra.com or call at 301-490-0657.

This year's event is in honor of Bob Rice. Bob has been with us since our first Power of DC 11 years ago. Last year he was working the charging area installing 1450s on the panel to keep up with all the heavy amp draws. He's been a big help and motivator over the years and we continue to keep him in our prayers.
