brake pump probelm
« on: June 26, 2007, 10:53:02 AM »
Here is what happened.  I all of a sudden lost power in my brakes, not a good thing with 19 deep cycle batteries on board.  Lights were also dimming, so I figured it was the battery, but instead found my crimped wire to DCDC converter had come apart.
MY QUESTION: now the pump is working, but I think I introduced air in the  brake system when I disconnected my PVC vacuum reservoir.  My brake pump does not cycle as much as it use to and in the first few brakes of a drive I do not get full power braking.

Thanks Again to Rich, Marty, John and everyone that read my email on my braking issues.  Brakes have to be there when you are hauling a thousand pounds of batteries.
Fortunately, I had a spare vacuum switch and a spare relay (I am ordering two spares for the future).   My battery malfunction must of ruined the relay because it was only after wiring in a new relay that the pump worked to the correct  standards.  FVEAA is a great club
Again, John Thanks, please reserve me two new relays.
