Dodge Dakota extended range
« on: September 27, 2008, 07:56:15 PM »
Well I bit the bullet and my loves it.  Thought that would get your attention.  We purchased a 2001 Dodge Dakota quab cab with the intent to drive it for a couple years as I get the parts and ideas for it.  I am having some second thought doubts about it because I saw very few Dodge Dakota conversions on the EV photo listing.  We intended this to be our family extended range vehicle with two 2k Honda generators parrallel ported when needed.  Does anyone why S10's and Rangers are used more than Dodge Dakotas?  Also would the extended range committee be interested in using my truck for their tests?

Hey Tim,

Though I may be wrong, I believe the Dakotas have much heavier frames than both the Rangers and the s10s. It could still be a good conversion.
