Here are ten of the fastest runs up Pikes Peak.  A very interesting mix of the fastest EV's and fastest petrol race machines from the past couple of years.

When the biggest difference in the NASCAR cockpits are the promo stickers, and the sounds are very similar, and the feel of the car is the same, watch for the wildly different sounds just among the electeics.  Watch the handling, and notice where the tires sometimes hop and scrub on the Pikes Peak contenders.    A truly new and interesting way to spend and evening.

Start with the in car video from Romain Dumas, who was the overall winner, using a Honda race engine and a chassis of his own design (Norma M20 RD Limited ).  Do turn up the sound and use the video full screen.  His time up the mountain was 8:51.445.   By the way, Romain is a very, very competitive driver, and a week before he won Pikes Peak, he won the 24 hours of LeMans. He is a factory Porsche driver, born in France, currently living in Switzerland.

Rhys Millen wasn't far behind with his electric "eO PP100" with a time of 8:57.118 about 5+ seconds back.   It should not surprise you that three of the top five cars were EVs.  See the overall results at:  http://www.ppihc.com/wp-content/uploads/2016-Overall-Results.pdf   Rhys run (complete with a squealing brake noise) is at  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fk7eCsWaLXw  Again, full screen, sound up.
