« on: December 02, 2015, 02:07:14 AM »
Here is an email I received from cmgaylo cmgaylo@gmail.com to the FVEAA

Hello,
I am writing to let your club and its members know about a conversion electric vehicle that will be for sale from December 4th - 10th through web based Estate Sale site “Everything But The House” (EBTH).  The vehicle is garaged in Wyoming Ohio, a Cincinnati suburb, and currently runs.

The vehicle is a 1991 Volkswagen Cabriolet convertible.  The conversion was completed in 2001 using Electro Automotive conversion parts and has been in continuous use since completion.  The car was an entrant in the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association Tour De Sol in 2001 and 2002 placing third for most efficient light duty vehicle in 2002.

View a photo and details of the vehicle here:

The Cabriolet, named ‘e-stream’, has 16 six volt lead acid batteries for a total system voltage of 96v. Installed in the vehicle is an 8” Advanced DC series wound motor, Curtis 1221 converter, Curtis pot box, DC/DC converter for the 12v system and an on-board 1500W charger for 120v outlets.  There is a custom towing setup incorporated into the front bumper for ease of hauling.  The vehicle runs and has a working 2 year old battery pack; range is unknown.

All manuals and product information come with the car as well as a tool kit and extra parts.
This is a wonderful vehicle to get your hands wet with an electric conversion.  Easy to work on and fun to drive.
The link for the estate sale will be public on December 4th at the following address:

The sale is titled “Wyoming, Ohio Personal Property Sale”
Thank you,
