Hi Folks,
We are working each Saturday from 9a-1pm until further notice.
Last week we had a very productive session! There were 4 autonomous teams working on their respective tasks:
1) Wayne and James making a custom bracket for attaching the potbox
2) Eric skinned the rear battery boxes with a red plastic (thanks John Emde), attached one side of the conduit running from rear to front for the power cable and made a custom clear panel that covers the transaxle area between the rear battery boxes;
3) Ted1 (me) and Ted2 (Sanders) created a lexan shelf to attach the DC/DC converter and measured the area available for the 12 v aux battery, and
4) Gerry made a custom bracket for mounting the vacuum pump under for the power brakes and measured for the vacuum tank and other power brake connections.
Goals for tomorrow include:
0) completing some of last week's tasks
1) make power cables from control board to motor
2) make power cables from front batteries to rear batteries
3) attach the conduit for the power cables under the car
4) start designing the charging connects
5) start designing the instrumentation changes (voltmeter and ammeter)
6) start wiring up the 12v portion of the control board
Eric's shop is at xxxxxxxx Chicago, just SW of Lake and Western. Park on street and ring the bell. Someone will lead you to the shop. If nobody answers the bell, come around the back and knock on the big metal garage door in the alley. My cell is xxxxx
If you haven't made a session yet, come on out. Or if you're a regular, come on out.
There are lots of things still to do and learn!
Kind regards,
ted

Hi Folks,
We are working each Saturday from 9am-1pm until further notice. Come whenever you can make it!
Last week was quite productive:
- Gerry and team finished the power brakes system (still have only a little testing and tweaking left to do)
- We installed the voltmeter and ammeter in the dash (looks OEM)
- Ken welded the "4th front battery" holder into place
- Eric and team reconnected the rack-and-pinion steering without the pump (but with fluid)
- We dropped in all the batteries and connected the long battery pack connections
- We hooked up the Zivan charger (temporarily) and charged the complete battery pack. It didn't charge long before doing equalization and finally turning off automatically.
Goals for tomorrow:
- Start charging port design
- Wire light kits to ammeter and voltmeter
- Complete dashboard disassembly and tap the ignition switch for connection to the power panel
- Create power cables from power panel to motor and from power panel to C1 disconnect
- Design C1 disconnect mount (if parts arrived)
- Design liquid heater system (if parts arrived)
Eric's shop is at tttttttttttt, Chicago, just SW of Lake and Western. Park on street and ring the bell. Someone will lead you to the shop. If nobody answers the bell, come around the back and knock on the big metal garage door in the alley. My cell is tttttttttttt.
If you haven't made a session yet, come on out! Or if you're a regular, come on out!
Don't miss this opportunity while it lasts! There are lots of things still to do and learn!
Kind regards,
ted
