The ComEd Residential Real-Time Pricing (RRTP) program is an hourly pricing program for residential customers. This program allows you to pay the hourly, market price for electricity. With real-time hourly market prices, it is possible for the price of electricity to be negative for short periods of time, typically in the middle of the night. Since ComEd RRTP participants pay the market price of electricity (with no markup), they are actually being paid to use electricity during negative priced hours, making it an ideal fit for electric vehicle owners who charge at night. Contact an RRTP specialist to see if you are a good fit for the program. Administered by Elevate Energy, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring smarter energy use for all.
